History of Block Panchayat
Ettumanoor is a block panchayat comprising six gram panchayats in Akshara Nagari, Kottayam district. In the year 2015-16, Ettumanoor Gram Panchayat was upgraded to a municipality. The headquarters of the block panchayat is located at Kothadikunnu in the heart of Ettumanoor town. The six panchayats with diverse features under it are Athirampuzha, Arpookara, Aymanam, Neendoor, Thiruvarppu, and Kumarakom. Kottayam Medical College, Mahatma Gandhi University, and the world-famous tourist destination Kumarakom are all located within this block panchayat.
